FAQs
What kind of products do you make?
Cirrus is a small-scale independent perfumery that creates original alcohol-based fragrances for all genders. We incorporate natural, and synthetic raw materials in the majority of our products. All fragrances are compounded in-house by owner and perfumer, Zoey Lake.
Do you ship internationally?
No. We are currently able to ship products within the USA, via ground shipping only. Shipping to Puerto Rico and Alaska is available. USPS ground will be used for all other shipments as of January 2026.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
No. We are not able to accept returns or exchanges. If there is a problem with your order (received the wrong product, broken bottles, etc), please contact us! We strongly recommend purchasing perfume samples if you would like to try a scent before committing to a full size bottle.
Do you include free samples with orders?
Yes. Most orders will receive one or more free perfume sample(s)! A general rule of thumb is if you order 4 samples or more of perfume, you will receive a free sample. These are typically chosen at random by me - or I will occasionally choose a sample that I think you will like based on your purchase. If you would like to request a specific sample as your freebie, please write it in the order notes when checking out. I will make an effort to accommodate any requests, but specific freebies cannot be guaranteed.
Do list all of your ingredients in the product description?
No. But we do list most of them. I will specifically be sure to list any ingredients that people are commonly sensitive to like super ambers or cinnamon oil. Additionally, common allergens are listed separately in order of concentration for all products. We are not members of the IFRA, but do voluntarily follow IFRA concentration guidelines in an effort to ensure that all of our products are skin safe.
Does Cirrus use fragrance oils?
No. We will never use fragrance oils in our products. We use natural essential oils, absolutes, CO2 extractions, and tinctures in addition to the same aromachemicals used by the major fragrance houses around the world. While there is nothing inherently unsafe or morally wrong with using fragrance oils, we feel that these products are inappropriate for use in fine fragrance and better options exist.
Who does the art and photography for Cirrus?
All label art is drawn by me (Zoey). I also create all of the tile images for the products on our website and take most of our product photography.
Are your perfumes vegan and cruelty-free?
The vast majority of our formulas are fully vegan. We do not work with any materials that are extracted directly from animals. Synthetic alternatives will always be chosen. However, there are certain materials we do use (beeswax absolute and butter extract for example) that are extracted from animal products. In this case, we ensure that the materials are coming from a supplier that follows sustainable, cruelty-free practices. If a product contains these types of raw materials, “NOT VEGAN” will be printed prominently in the product description.
Are your perfumes "clean", non-toxic, paraben, and phthalate free?
Short answer is yes - but the long answer is that nearly all perfumes meet these requirements, and they are not meaningful measures of a product's safety. For example - diethyl phthalate (DEP) specifically is the only phthalate that is commonly used in fragrance and it is very uncommon to find in independent artisanal fine fragrances like Cirrus products. DEP is most commonly used in fragrance oils (functional and home fragrance products such as candles, soap, lotion, wax melts, plugin and reed diffusers) and the kinds of inexpensive dupe fragrance concentrates that are diluted by amateur brands. With that said, DEP has been extensively researched and was NOT one of the phthalates (a broad category of chemicals that are used in everything from vinyl flooring and fabrics to IV tubing and blood bags) that was of concern for safe use and endocrine disruption. It has been proven safe for use on the skin over and over again.
Do you accept commissions or custom fragrance orders?
We are able to accept a very limited number of custom projects each year. Please contact us if you are interested in a custom project so that we can discuss availability, prices, and scope on an individual basis.
