Mid-morning in late September we were riding out to take a look at your mother’s land. It had rained late night and the warming air was heavy and aromatic. The ground was covered in a mix of damp dried grasses, sage brush, and cactus.
The horse you had lent me was a young and calmly rebellious palomino. He shifted his weight slowly onto a hoof he had placed on my right boot. Was he testing me?

I get every single note all at the same time, but the sage and patchouli stand out to me at the beginning. This smells like those hippie shops in Sedona where you can get your aura photographed. It’s very earthy and deep. There is some sort of note that smells synthetic that I don’t love, but overall, this is a cowboy hippie dream. The dry down smells like a grandpa- but like a really cool one. Not full bottle worthy for me- but absolutely perfect for a specific type of person.
I smell like a cowboy and I love it. This starts out soft leather, grass, and a dark earthiness. About an hour later it's brighter, spicier, and herbal. An enchanting desert scent.
Jojo said it perfectly. Starts out so perfectly realistic desert and ends very bracingly herbal. Meditative is a good word it. Lovely, great throw and longevity!
This perfume is right up my alley, starting strong with its stone-earthy, herbal, realistic tack and saddle. It evokes such a strong and lovely sense of place, of the natural world (which is why I also adore Enforced Modesty so much!).
I get sunshiney hay and sweet grasses, nostril-cooling sage and creosote, beloved and broken-in leather. The calming feeling of walking or riding beside a creek, miles away from life's everyday hustle-bustle and other troubles.
Palomino dries down into something more metaphysical after the initial photorealistic ride, all the while remaining lovely in its herbal, earthy, meditative heart.
There is an animalic note in this fragrance, and I am pleased to say it's exactly what I have been looking for in perfumes. It's not unpleasantly barnyard-y or funky to me. Unique, bold, yet quite wearable, Palomino unfolds a journey of contemplation for me; an ode to healing in nature 🥰
