It was late May. We had gone hiking along the coast. Up in the woods where the ancient spruce and cypress trees cut up through the mist and seemed to stretch up forever. As the sun set, we headed back down to the car. You wanted to see the ocean.
A week later I found the flannel that you had been wearing that day. It still smelled like you. It would be many more weeks before the scent faded completely and months more before I realized you were never really mine to lose. I didn't love you. I loved what you represented.

blind buy obvi but so worth it! i usually prefer feminine scents but this has bewitched me body and soul. perfect for summer and i'm so happy to support a TX business!
At this point, I'm not sure I can fangirl any harder for all things Cirrus. I am beyond impressed with Zoey's ability to craft scents that transport me to a feeling, a moment, an experience. Zoey manages to turn notes that typically you couldn't get me to touch with a ten foot pole (citrus, chocolate, anything fruity, lemonade, cotton candy...) into a beautiful, non-cloying, ethereal melody. Now, I'm already a feral gremlin for anything remotely green and herbal, so naturally I immediately snatched up a sample of **The Idea of You,** but was totally unprepared to be as obsessed with it as I am.
On first sprits it's a lively fresh green, like a breath of the freshest air. The cannabis is there, but beautifully melded with the hinoki to create a strong herbal backing. A few minutes later a subtle sweetness comes out that rounds out the greenery.
Later in the dry down, a very floaty, ethereal green scent bubble forms around me. It's almost like it's sparkling a little. Kinda like soda, but without the nose tingles. Like water on the lake. Honestly, I had to do a double take and look at the notes again to figure out what was giving it that floaty quality. I suspect it might be the aldehydes?? My experience with aldehydes has been mostly with "clean laundry" scents, but I've always found them too sharp to my nose. It's so refreshing I could almost swear there's a light green fruit hiding in there.
I kept huffing my inner elbow as I was running errands - no shame in sight. If I could have my nose smooshed to it all day I would. I would get wafts of something green and magical and think "oo what's that pretty smell??" and then I realize it's me! **The Idea of You** makes my brain tingle in an inexplicably satisfying way.
The other reviewer who said it’s your skin but better for forest spirits is right on the money. Not a super beast mode scent, but soft and green, I can definitely see the vision of smelling this on a flannel left behind.

I got this as a free sample because I ordered the other two new releases, but I was pleasantly surprised at this one. Earthy, but not dirty, smells like the memory of a scent. At first I thought there was something wrong with my sniffer till I read the about. This truly does capture the feeling of smelling the hoodie of someone you let slip away. Amazing work, artistically crafted as always, I personally just prefer more feminine scents
