Antique Nouveau

I wore this to a Dr’s appointment I had last week and as soon as one of the nurses walked in, she told me how wonderful I smelled and that I ‘smelled like the holidays,’ which made me smile. And then this same nurse left the room I was in and II could still hear her as she said to the other staff there, “oh my gosh, she smells so good.. just like the holidays!” I don’t associate this scent with the stereotypical holiday scents but yes.. going by how much the nurse who loved my perfume so much I can understand the connection. It’s an extremely warm, cozy and inviting scent that makes you happy to smell whether that’s on yourself or on another. This will be a scent that from now on I will connect to the holidays.

An aptly named chypre that is very light and has a rich allure and is golden all at the same time. Totally atmospheric to a time and place yet also a completely modern perfume for an elegant autumnal queen. It’s a little powdery, a little golden, a little spicy, and a little floral. Beautiful, and possibly my top contender for the new fall releases.

My boyfriend smelled this and described it as a "citrusy grandpa smell" and I think that's beautifully accurate. It has an authentic antique feel. Fresh and spicy upon application, becomes more powdery and sweet as it dries. There's a mild peppery, woody quality throughout yet it always retains a certain freshness. I feel like I should be sitting at a typewriter. Not quite in line with my personal taste but it's great!
