A french style chypre modeled after the popular fragrances of the early 1900’s. Bergamot, oakmoss, resins, vetiver and patchouli are blended with a variety of florals, and woods. The overall impression is rich, vintage and expensive with a powdery-sweet purple floral overtone.
Notes: Bergamot, oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver, coumarin, iris, jasmine sambac, heliotrope, peony, labdanum, benzoin, opoponax, pinyon pine, cedarwood, clove
This fragrance contains natural oakmoss absolute and processed (IFRA safe) oakmoss absolute to ensure that the fragrance can be as faithful as possible while maintaining skin safety. This also has the highest percentage of oakmoss out of any of the chypes that I offer.

This is a new spin on what a vintage chypre fragrance smells like. If you have seen the movie Saltburn, this is what I expect that mansion to smell like. Its old money but there is something dirty about it, its lost its feeling of being "classy." Its the smell of dark wood furniture that is regularly waxed. Its rich and resinous in a way that feels like someone dipped the wood in spiced honey. There are immaculately maintained gardens full of flowers, but there is something filthy about those flowers. It opens slightly fresh with the bergamot but the woody spice blends with the indolic and almost fruity florals making it pretty much smell what you imagine a warm amber color to smell like. This is a hard to describe fragrance but I know I love it.
The oakmoss really pops out to me, giving a rich woody warmth to this fragrance. I think it could be because this fragrance contains a mixture of natural absolute and processed absolute oakmoss.
This fragrance creates a really solid scent bubble around you. This also lasted about 7 hours on my skin.
I’ve described other resinous fragrances as smelling like “your grandpa’s old trunk in the attic.” This is your grandma’s old trunk in the attic. But not just any grandma. This grandma is classy and feminine, intelligent and well-traveled. Jane from Tarzan vibes. She has stories, and you’re not sure how many of them are true until she breaks out this old trunk and shows you the evidence, black-and-white photos and dusty keepsakes from all over the world, sweet incense, pressed flowers, and old bottles of vintage perfume. More floral than I prefer, but definitely smells antique!
This sent is right up my ally, I was looking for a long lasting perfum and loved the notes on this one.
Antique Nouveau is a gorgeous vintage-inspired floral chypre with an emphasis to my nose on jasmine. This evokes a sophisticated air from a certain time while maintaining a reverence for the fragrances of natural places. I met a friend while wearing this, and he enthusiastically complimented me on my choice, just adored this. I’ll be happy to have a bottle in my collection.
Chypres are my favorite, and this is a really lovely exemplar - a little dusty from the oakmoss, a little spicy, a little floral, the overall effect of which is sumptuous. This is not a heavy chypre, though - it's very airy, at least in the edp. I am getting a full bottle! Definitely try if you like chypres, but I also recommend it if you're not sure or you've found some chypres too fusty - it's a friendly chypre, while still clearly smelling like the classics. Love!
