Cirrus Parfum

Betrothed

Betrothed

Note: This fragrance has been discontinued and will not be restocked

A gorgeous, almost creamy rose floral with a little spice from the black peppercorn and oudh. This started as an experiment in combining all of my "white" materials but took on a life of its own when it sparked a memory of watching a man propose in the Portland Rose Garden.

Notes: white tea roses, transparent bone musk, white lilies, white oudh, a trace of vanillin and black peppercorn

White oudh (aetoxylon) is a different tree species than the agarwood of traditional true oudh. It does not have the animalic undertones that are common with this material, but it is wonderfully complex and provides an excellent base for transparent florals.

Not for me

I am picky with rose but I had high hopes for this one with the tea, white oud, and peppercorn. However, it was a miss for me. There’s something wet about this fragrance - maybe the tea note which is nice. But the overwhelming impression is that of potpourri. It was making me sneeze like crazy. Which shouldn’t be a surprise with a combo like rose and pepper- but I was hoping this would be a deep, spicy, night time spring fragrance with rose in the background. The rose is STRONG! I hate to say I ended up scrubbing :( But I had trouble getting it off my skin so it probably has great lasting power- that’s a plus! After scrubbing, I put on a green fig lotion and the result was actually pretty lovely.

Love!

Wow! I must admit, I am a lover of white florals and rose — this one reminds me so much of my favorite Persian childhood dessert, Fereni. Just sweet enough. A warm and creamy rice pudding with rose water and cinnamon (and a touch of cardamom) with pistachio bits on top. Absolutely lovely, I can’t get enough!

Lovely floral fragrance

This perfume captured the fresh, blushing pre-wedding vibes. Perfect for those who want to feel like they are walking through a field of flowers in a white dress while wearing a flower ring on their head.

Rose Musk with Some Bite

This makes me think of my Italian grandma's old wedding photos. Where she had the biggest and poofiest wedding dress that was the height of fashion at that time. Her cake is decorated using the Lambeth piping style that looks so delicate but that royal icing is hard as a rock and will cut you. This is a fragrance that is a duality of sharp and soft. Its fluffy and lightly sweet white florals balanced with bit of spice and citrus from the pepper and oud. It smells welcoming but like you wouldn't hesitate to cut someone if needed.

This fragrance is a skin scent. It lasted on my skin about 4 hours.

White bone musk? Yes please.

"Betrothed" is a refined, creamy floral fragrance with a surprising hint of warm peppercorn. The clean, "white tea rose" heart is elegantly balanced by subtle spice, creating a sophisticated and comforting scent. It's like a sunlit, elegant tea party in a bottle.
