Chamomile Cafe
Chamomile Cafe
Sitting alone in a dark cafe, near the window. It’s raining outside but you are still warm and dry. You are reading a novel and enjoying a cup of chamomile tea while the smell of oatmeal cookies slowly grows. You realize a fresh batch has just come out of the oven.
Notes: Roman chamomile, oatmeal cookies, tuberose, orris butter, weathered woods, brown sugar, and a bit of raisin
This smells like lonely nights in a familiar place to me - very warm and cozy but with an undercurrent of melancholy.

I was skeptical about this fragrance at first. tuberose is a note that I avoid like plague as it reduces every fragrance on my skin to this bubblegum-y indolic mess and I also never really full size my samples of herbal or woody gourmands. It was not a love at first try, as the woodiness and strong raisin overwhelmed any other featured notes. I felt less sleepytime tea bear and more handsome literature professor. (which is totally ok if you’d like to smell like that but I was hoping for sleepytime tea bear)
It actually took this sample to spill on my bed sheets and my sweater for me to actually love it. I was annoyed at first, but it was hard to stay upset when the air around me smelled like oatmeal cookies and chamomile tea as I was surrounded by my stuffed animals, trinkets, and the meekest of sunlight peeking through my blackout curtains. I woke up feeling amazing. it’s quite literally nostalgic comfort in a bottle. you’re 6 years old and you’re picking out a winnie the pooh book from your county library, a nap as the rain patters on your window, your teacher playing a movie on those tv carts because there’s no work to do. I don’t even like oatmeal raisin cookies but this scent alone may have just convinced me to bake them.
This is really enjoyable. On me the spiced oatmeal cookie makes the foremost impression, with whiffs of remarkably spot-on chamomile tea here and there.
This is a gorgeous, gorgeous tuberose-gourmand-chypre executed with artistic mastery. The chamomile tea note is impressively realistic, and the impression of a warm oatmeal-raisin cookie is comforting. The complexity of the chypre base grounds the composition fully into classic personal fragrance that becomes more beautiful as it develops well into the drydown. I’ve been evangelizing this fragrance all over the internet and love to see people exploring this scent and singing its praises. Absolutely getting a spot in my full bottle collection!
I really don't like gourmands, but I have been searching for the perfect fall perfume. And I think I've found it here. It is such a cozy and sweet scent that makes you feel like you're cozied up eating fresh oatmeal cookies and a cup of chamomile tea. It's different from gourmands because it feels like you're sitting there eating those scents instead of smelling like the food itself? I love this perfume and look forward to wearing it all winter. (It's also really good to mix with the Strange Proclivities of Mr. Dickens if you want to add some fruity/powderyness to it)
This is beautiful. I don’t know how it was done but the chamomile tea in this is ridiculously spot on. It feels like you’re watching the transparent liquid be poured right at your table, freshly brewed, only naturally sweet, and oh so aromatic. Then paired with your hot cup of tea in a porcelain cup, is a warmly baked oatmeal cookie, crumbly, sweet, grainy, and with hints of raisins hidden inside. This is gourmand in such a subtly sweet way, and there’s a comforting warmth that feels like a hug from the sunshine pouring through your kitchen window. The way this scent develops is so impressive, it really takes you from your morning cup of tea to your sweet treat of cookies after breakfast. I love this a thousand times over.
