Notes: Fizzy grapefruit soda, freshly picked daisies, tiny forget-me-nots, and the powdery sweet down feathers of a well groomed parakeet
This perfume was inspired by rose-tinted memories of my first pet. Skye was a beautiful and very tame blue and white parakeet. Some of my earliest memories were of sneaking out of bed at sunrise and taking him out of his cage to play when the house and the world were just for the two of us.
It opens with a super carbonated and defined grapefruit soda. As it dries down the flowers and feathers will begin to come out.
This perfume is naturally colored with blue chamomile. Therefore the color of this fragrance may change slightly with age.

This is popping open a bottle of grapefruit soda, the fizz is super strong, tickling your throat as you chug the refreshing sweet and sour carbonated beverage. This is the most "soda" like fragrance I have ever smelled. The fizz feels so real that you are almost tempted to drink it. One the fizz starts to fade, the fragrance transitions into a softly sweet and almost fluffy floral fragrance that still carries the hints of citrus. The way this fragrance opens is just genius, I immediately went to buy myself a full bottle.
This fragrance starts with a fairly strong scent bubble and transitions into a skin scent. This also lasted about 4 hours on my skin which doesn't bother me because I would love to re-apply this fragrance just to get another hit of that opening.
You know the part in the animated Peter Pan movie where they all end up flying from the pixie dust/thinking happy thoughts in the blue sky with moonlight dawning their faces and they’re soaring through a sleepy cloud over London? This is channeling major cozy comfort vibes from that movie. Even when Pan confers with the mermaids at night to go save Tiger Lily, this smells like the colors of cool blue night with clouds or reflection in pools of water. It smells like magic and dreams and the very definition of ethereal musk. Complete magic.
It starts off with a punchy citrus rind and then dries down into this absolutely ethereal musk like scent that is so fairylike and airy and comforting.
I don't know how Zoey did it, but Parakeet smells exactly like the description. I grew up with larger birds and the fuzzy-feather note is perfect. I plan on adding this one to my Spring tray.
A soft, not-quite-powdery, not-quite-fresh floral with a fizzy citrus that unfortunately evokes cleaning supplies. I’m definitely not getting feathers.
Parakeet starts out with the sunshiniest rush of grapefruit I've ever smelled. I don't get a lot of bubble/fizz, but it's so so juicy. I wouldn't call it sugary, but it's a touch sweeter than real grapefruit while maintaining just enough of the fruit's rindy bitterness. It mellows and sweetens as it dries. Grapefruit is still the dominant scent, but a gentle, sweet musk begins to settle in. This becomes more powdery with a pinch of almond. It really does smell quite a lot like powdery down feathers while maintaining a sort of childhood fantasy glow with the bright grapefruit. Personally, I don't perceive much of a floral accord, and I do think it would be even better if I could smell that. Sometimes I layer with Pearfat's Big Floppy Flowers to marry this scent with a strong wildflower accord. This is a great "dumb reach" scent for a hot, sticky summer. It's bright and clean and happy.
