Union St Crash
Union St Crash
Notes: Old books, cinnamon, and cognac with a spritz of lime - lightly colored with rich antique leather and a touch of cigar smoke wafting in from outside.
We were young, drunk, and reckless in Brooklyn. Losing our way and not really caring, when we found ourselves in a bar that seemed to also be a dimly lit library. It was filled with leather armchairs, chess boards, and row after row of old books.
I have no idea where we were exactly, but the sign on the corner read "Union St."

Library scents can be a bit hit or miss for me, but this one is definitely a hit! The books, the leather, the spiced drink and hint of smoke, it's all lovely on the ambery base. It's so cozy (but not powdery or sweet, which can often be an issue for me with "cozy" scents), and like many of Zoey's compositions, I find myself wondering what smells so good before realizing it's me - and this somehow happens again and again! Truly lovely.
Gorgeous spicy book fragrance that changes over the course of the wear, from leather to paper pages to a warm cinnamon dry-down! I have tried many leather and book perfumes, but this one takes the cake. And my partner agrees! We got a bottle to share and have to fight over it. Well done Cirrus!
10/10, absolutely perfect, no notes! Union St Crash is signature worthy for me and the first perfume with leather I have ever truly loved. Cirrus has knocked it out of the park with everything I’ve tried from them. This one is a dark academia dream come true.
I'm so glad Union St Crash was included with my order - major thanks to whomever was responsible for that decision! As a previous review states, "library scents are done to death." But that's because they forget the books in the mad dash to make sure you notice the liquor cabinet, the humidor, and the leather backed chairs.
Union St Crash brings the books, their aged pages, and care-worn leather covers, and it makes a lovely room for them to live in comfortably, not overshadowed by their readers and their proclivities.
This is the scent of realizing you've allowed yourself to get entirely lost in a story, until you hear the clinking of icecubes in a glass a few feet away - which makes you aware of the sounds of traffic outside, murmured conversations going on all around you, the reality of the world you've been sitting in all along while your mind and heart traveled deep into the pages of one of the many books sharing this magical space with you.
What a wonderful application of cinnamon in this blend! It's not where or what I expected it to be in the mix at all, and it really is the rug that ties the room together for me. Union St Crash is a fantastic surprise! It's a sensory experience that I get to enjoy throughout the day, a scent to live inside of, like escaping into a loved bit of literature
Gonna be honest, I completely ignored this sample because the whole library thing has been done to death in indie scents, so when I got it as a freebie in my order i was like lol ofc. But joke's on me because this is an absolute banger. Rich, almost chocolatey woods so perfect I can practically feel the grain. The cigar smoke is spot on, not acrid or gross, but smooth and earthy. The lime and cognac give this a bright edge that keeps it from being too heavy or oppressive. Ugh it's so good.
